Today I received two death notices of two brothers. As my focus is mainly with Kriegsmarine, I would like to ask the readers here more details on his death. I bought them in a lot, his brother was with the Kriegsmarine and died on a minesweeper.
It turns out the unit Erich Haindl served with is a rather obscure one, the 5. Panzerjagdstaffel, basicly civil planes equipped with Panzerfaust against tanks. A sign of the last days of the Third Reich..

I understand there is a book on this subject: Das letzte Aufgebot der deutschen Luftwaffe
Der Einsatz mit leichten Schulflugzeugen vom Typ Bücker Bü 181 als Nachtschlächter und Panzerjäger bei Kriegsende 1945 from Christian Möller. Perhaps somebody has this book and is willing to have a look if he is mentioned?
