Very good, Stormbird. :D

Didn't they also call him "Macky" or something like that?

You are next.

"Stormbird" is correct (also "Blowjob" in USAAF radio code!!) but "Schwalbe" is not a nickname, that was, AFAIK her named name.

I wish to know what those Luftwaffe pilots called her among themselves.

It was in fact "Turbo" as near as I can determine. Maybe not a wide spread term but used by the pilots in some degree.

Well done, Mr "Art of War", you are up next. :D

Oh, freak... I gotta stop answering these threads... As if I could :P

Anyway, another (easy) question from me...

What was the nickname (by teh pilots under his command especially) of Werner Mölders, and why?

Mölders' nickname was "Vati" (Daddy), because he was older than his colleagues at his Geschwader.

I don't think it was as much the fact that he WAS older, than the fact that he ACTED older... anyway, I'll ´say it's close to correct, so you get to ask the next question

All right.

My question is simple:

What was the nickname of Jagdgeschwader 54?

'Über Höhen und Tiefen jagd ein Herz' - it would have to be 'die Grünherzen' !
