Thanks Max.
Okay, next question: Which Luftwaffe fighter pilot claimed the most victories between 1 September 1939 and 9 May 1940?

Re: The official AHF Luftwaffe quiz thread
pb, by "fighter pilot" I mean the pilot of any day or night fighter, including the ME-110, but the answer is not Lent.

Bingo! Air Aces, by Christopher Shores, says that Mölders claimed 10 enemy aircraft destroyed during the period I mentioned.
Your turn again.

Thanks Rob.
An aircraft marking question:
This unit 's aircraft briefly sported this emblem until the High Command ordered its removal: What was the unit and why was it's insignia banned?

Re: The official AHF Luftwaffe quiz thread
Your hint drove me into this:
Ju-87 A-1 "Antons" of the Legion Condor used that bowler hat with umbrella.
This picture of "29-3" shows the aircraft displaying one of the first emblems seen on Condor Stukas comprising a bowler hat pierced by an umbrella. This apparently refers to the 'civilian' nature of the mission - the 'volunteers' of the Condor Legion were considered civilians (during the transfer from Germany by ship, personnel wore civilian clothes), despite taking part in acts of war. In the event the emblem in question did not satisfy the German High Command who ordered its removal. Why?
I couldn't find answer to that!
With best, J-P

Re: The official AHF Luftwaffe quiz thread
You are correct, J-P! The only reason I can think of for the emblems being scrubbed was that the High Command didn't have much of a sense of humor when it came to their "official" politically correct explanation being made fun of by professional airmen who knew better.
Now your question.
Now your question.

Thanks!
I'm actually and by no means an expert on Luftwaffe, so my question is an easy one.
Whose plane is this?
