f) Luftwaffe and SS paratroopers airborne assault (Unternehmen Rosselsprung) at Tito’s HQ at Drvar, Yugoslavia
Panzermahn:

As far as I am aware there were very few Luftwaffe paratroopers at Drvar (two companies to reinforce the SS paras) - a majority of the paratroops were from SS Parachute Battalion 500. Despite initial suprise and modest early success, the operation was ultimately a debacle and the SS paratroopers were decimated by Tito's bodyguard battalion and subsequent Partizan reinforcements. The invasion of Crete happened 1941 not 1940.

hmmmmmmmm back on topic

7-7-1944 Blitzschlacht über Oschersleben when the first SturmFW Gefectsverband took place with the Höhenjägers of I./JG 300 provided cover. SturmFw's of JG 3 and JG 300 took on the 8th AF B-24 formations and the 15th AF and the slaughter of 55 US heavy bombers took place. Much credit has been givent o the attacks by Me 410 units but their overall attacks and presence was to be discounted. Never had the US bomber formations received the overall attacks vom hinten enmasse as such during the war, and it was going to continue till mid-January of 1945 by SturmFw gruppen.

I have heard of the bomb raids on Oschersleben in 1944/1945. Does anybody have more detailed information regarding these? I just discovered that my relatives who lived in Oschersleben around that time never even mentioned any bomb raids over the years at all. Which certainly remains a mystery to me since they lived in the neighbourhood of the aircraft plant (AGO)...

Thanks in advance!
