The very first German nightfighters in WW2 were not Junkers. A hint: they were not Messerschmitts or Heinkels.

Arado Ar 68 biplane fighter is the right answer! The Ar 68 night patrols vigilated the German-French border during the autumn 1939. They were organized in 10. and 11./Nachtjagd/JG 72.

For those interested in Ar 68:

The next question goes over to Ironmachine.

Thanks. New question: which aircraft model was credited with the first official Nachtjagd victory of World War II?

Thank you, Sir.
Here's another question about Luftwaffe "firsts":
Which aircraft model was the victim of the first USAAF air victory of the war?
Cheers,
Max

hi,

On August 14, 1942, a P-40 and a P-38 of the USAAF shot down a Fw 200 over Reykjavik, Iceland.

hi,

OK, as I'm not an Air Force man, an easy one: which German aircraft did have its cockpit not on the centerline ?

Not exactly the same, but if you also mean asymmetric, the obvious answer would be the Blohm & Voss BV 141.

hi, Ironmachine,

the answer is yes, of course.

So it's your turn, again.

btw: I Think, that it is your turn in the "other area" thread, too, even if you don't get a positive answer for your correct solution.

Well, let's kept it simple: name another German operational (no projects or paper designs) aircraft that also had its cockpit not on the centerline.
P.S.: I suppose you mean the "other eras" thread, not the "other area" thread. :) I'll see what I can do.
Regards.
