I know an extremely brief outline of his early life and now know some of the history of his kills, except I've been told that it is confusing. I feel like I'm running around in circles, somebody please help.....

Hi,

Hackl started his military career in 1933 enlisting himself as member of the 20. Infanterie-Regiment (bayerische). Interesting links:

Hackl´s biography (in Portuguese) - http://www.luftwaffe39-45.historia.nom. ... /hackl.htm
Unit's story: http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... r/IR20.htm

Hope it helps,

Douglas.
