Have just received the lastest issue of an excellent magazine called "After the Battle" published in London at £3.50. E-Mail [email protected]
It contains a piece on Werl prison and has a picture of Kurt Wollf together with Generals Curt Gallenkamp, Eberhard von Mackensen and Field Marshal Erich von Manstein in the Prison garden. Wolff was tried in Brunswick charged with exposing British prisoners to air raids at the synthetic petrol plant complex at Blechhammer in Upper Silesia in 1944 while he was Commander of the POW department in Wehrkreis VIII. He was sentenced to to 7 years in prison. He arrived at Werl prison January 1950. He was released late 1951
