It is

Generalleutnant z. V. Kurt Wilhelm Albert Karl Agricola
* 15.08.1889 Döbeln
† 27.12.1955 Bad Godesberg

31.01.1939 Abschied als Char. Generalleutnant
01.09.1939 Kommandant von Oppeln
19.12.1941 – 18.04.1945 Korück 580
08.05.1945 sowj. Gefangenschaft in Teplice–Šanov/Tschechoslowakei
09.10.1955 entlassen

the details of his personal life are documented in the superb work of Christian Hartmann Wehrmacht im Ostkrieg: Front und militärisches Hinterland 1941/42. According to the testimony of his chief of staff, his career in the Wehrmacht crashed and burned because his wife was Jewish, even though he was forced to divorce her. His wife managed to escape to South America, while Agricola sent their children to the v. Bodelschwinghsche Anstalten Bethel for their protection. Despite the fact that he merely lived for 2 and a half months after he returned to Germany in 1955, he managed to marry his former wife and reunite with his family.

An unusual story indeed!

Jake

Here we go:
In what connection was General der Infanterie a. D. Enno von Rintelen [Deutscher Bevollmächtigter General beim Commando Supremo (Hauptquartier) der italienischen Wehrmacht] with the family of Karl Theodor Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg, former Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany ?

Well ....

Enno Emil von Rintelen
* 06.11.1891 Stettin
† 07.08.1971 Heidelberg

Parents: Kgl. Preuß. Generalleutnant Friedrich Wilhelm (since 1913: von) Rintelen (* 29.05.1885 Dortmund, † 05.1938 Potsdam) & Hedwig neé Russell (1865-1953).

The sister of his mother, Frieda, married Franz Eberhard von Buhl. The married couple owned the vineyard Weingut “Reichsrat von Buhl“,then one of the greatest in whole the german empire.

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Eberhard_Buhl

Unfortunately they were childless. Therefore Franz Eberhard von Buhl wanted to bequeath his best friend Georg Enoch Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg his entire property by adopting Georg Enoch's son Philipp Franz in 1920.
Philipp Franz Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg was killed in action 1943 and the widow Frieda von Buhl had now to adopt the brother of Philipp Franz, the later member of the parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany (CSU) Karl Theodor Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg - who was connected to the resistance and also working for Soldatensender Calais. His grandson is the politician and former federal government minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg.

Enno von Rintelen was since
00.00.1952 Verwalter des Weinguts [bailiff of the vineyard] “Reichsrat von Buhl“ in Deidesheim/Palatinate

BTW - brothers and sisters of Enno von Rintelen:
Dr. jur. Viktor von Rintelen (1887-1954; Direktor der Deutschen Bank);
Angelina (Ina) von Rintelen (1893-1983), wife of the königlich preußischer Generaloberarzt Prof. Dr. med. Conrad Pochhammer;
Emil von Rintelen (* 10.01.1897 Stettin, † 24.06.1981 Düsseldorf); ab 1941 bis März 1943 im persönlichen Stab Ribbentrops, seit 1943 Botschafter z.b.V.;
Prof. Dr. phil. Dres. h.c. Fritz-Joachim von Rintelen (1898-1979; Professor der Philosophie, Psychologie und Pädagogik an der Universität Mainz)

A relatively easier question:

Who is the one and only German General (a Generalleutnant) to have been born in the Caribbean?

Hint: although praised by Rommel, he wasn't effective as a commander. During WWII he also commanded a Jäger–Division.

He is

Generalleutnant Alexander Ernst Bourquin
* 21.05.1896 Nazareth/Manchester Parish/Jamaika (approximately at 18°06'40.2"N 77°35'10.7"W)
† 05.12.1966 Braunschweig

According to Hermann Frank Meyer's excellent book Von Wien nach Kalavryta, Bourquin was the son of a Universitätsdirektor, but I believe his father was rather a school official in Nazareth, one of the so–called Free Villages, inhabited by freed slaves, independent from colonial landowners.

Bourquin met Rommel in 1938, when the former was commander of the Kriegsschule Wiener Neustadt; Rommel was reportedly fond of Bourquin, whom recognized as a very capable military leader. However, as commander of the 446. Infanterie–Regiment, he was described as inadequate. He was deputy commander of 117. Jäger-Division in Greece from 11.10. to 10.11.1943.
