Phil,

Not quite. von Blomberg was the third and Frhr. von Fritsch was the fifth. As a hint, both promotions were prior to 1931.

Thank you, abaus!

We are looking for four German Heer Generals who served in the Austro-Hungarian Army before 1918 AND who were Knights of the Military Order of Maria Theresia (Militär-Maria-Theresien-Orden). One of them served as active Generalmajor, one as active Generalleutnant and two as honorary General der Infanterie. Who are they?

Time for a hint:

the Generalmajor and the Generalleutnant were holders of the knights cross of the Iron Cross too.

One General der Infanterie was holder of the Pour le Merite too and the other was defender of the city of Görz in WW 1.

The German government needed to spend a large amount of money to fund its massive re-armament effort.
Therefore a dummy corporation (“”Tarngesellschaft”) was created by the Minister of Finance, Hjalmar Schacht, in May 1933, with the collaboration of four distinguished german concerns (Krupp, Siemens, Gutehoffnungshütte and Rheinmetall).
This closed corporation had two business manager ("Geschäftsführer"). The first came from the Reichsbank, the other was provided by the RWM (Reichswehrministerium).

Who was this officer sent by the RWM ??? I know, a very hard nut to crack.

When he started his engagement he was an Oberst a.D.
Reactivated in autumn 1939 he was at last promoted to Generalmajor z.V.

Go for it !!

A subtle hint:
the limited liability company's ”mefo bills” served as bills of exchange, convertible into Reichsmark upon demand.
But who was appointed by the RWM as an executive of this "company" ??
