For my post on 08/05/12 (page 70), the PVA with badge on the wrong arm has been identified in the RKT posts by chris44 as:

"Foto 419 from docarchiv
Karl-Otto Leukefeld

chris44"

Thanks, another one from my collection with a name to it. :D

Thanks,

Neil

A Swedish Panzerknacker! Yngve Nordborg, a SS-Kriegsberichter with the rank of SS-Untersturmfürer or SS-Obersturmführer.
"Yngve Nordborg volunteered to the Waffen-SS in 1944 as a war reporter and was sent to the Invasion front in the West. He participated in the Battle for Arnheim in September 1944 and was decorated with the Iron Cross for having destroyed two American tanks with the Panzerfaust."
Source: Lars Gyllenhaal & Lennart Westberg, "Svenskar i krig 1914-1945" (2004). Qoute is from p. 271 and translated by me.

The Russian site said that this receiver of 4 Panzervernichtungsabzeichen is Heinz Macher, but of course this is not him. So who is he?

Gentlemen,

On page 8 of "The German Tank Destruction Badge in World War II" by Rolf Michaelis.

Wehrmacht Communiques

17 February 1945: During the night of 8-9 February in the combat zone around Liegnitz Obergefreite Walter Suss-Meyer,10th Battery of Flak Regiment 46(mot.) singlehandedly destroyed five enemy tanks with the panzerfaust.

23 February 1945: During the fighting for Lauban a company of Grenadier Replacement and Training Battalion 313 under the command of Leutnant Geilnig displayed extraordinary steadfastness. In two day it destroyed eight tanks with close-range weapons. Despite an arm prosthesis, the company commander singlehandedly knocked out four Soviet tanks with the panzerfaust.

Sincerely,

Edward L. Hsiao

Having much details on Sackersdorff which unfortunately due to issues with his relatives I can not publish anymore, I can state the following.
Heinz Sackersdorff did NOT receive the KC, he was only recommended to the decoration. Him being awarded the Gold Tank Destruction Badge is also not confirmed by records or photos of him showing the decoration. The only public information available on him at the moment can be found here:
