Die Panzerknacker - the holders of the tank destruction badge
Re: Die Panzerknacker- the holders of the tank destruction b
What is the identity of this veteran?
Re: Die Panzerknacker- the holders of the tank destruction b
For my post on 08/05/12 (page 70), the PVA with badge on the wrong arm has been identified in the RKT posts by chris44 as:
"Foto 419 from docarchiv
Karl-Otto Leukefeld

Thanks, another one from my collection with a name to it.
Thanks,
Neil

A Swedish Panzerknacker! Yngve Nordborg, a SS-Kriegsberichter with the rank of SS-Untersturmfürer or SS-Obersturmführer.

He participated in the Battle for Arnheim in September 1944 and was decorated with the Iron Cross for having destroyed two American tanks with the Panzerfaust."

The Russian site said that this receiver of 4 Panzervernichtungsabzeichen is Heinz Macher, but of course this is not him. So who is he?

23 February 1945: During the fighting for Lauban a company of Grenadier Replacement and Training Battalion 313 under the command of Leutnant Geilnig displayed extraordinary steadfastness.
