Who was the Army Group Commander killed in action?

Does the list include Field Marshal von Bock, killed by allied air attack on 4 May 1945? Was he the highest ranking officer, of any army, killed by enemy action in World War II?

Today I examined the HPA file for Laux, it contains the following:
"Gen d Inf. Laux ist am 2.9.44 im Feldlaz 158 Riga an den Folgen seiner am 30.8.44 durch Flugzeugabschuss erlittenen schweren Verwundungen erlegen."

The entry in Tätigkeitsbericht des Chefs des Heerespersonalamtes giving a date of 29.08.1944 is probably a mistake.

Thanks John for the re-check and correction of the LAUX data. I have made a post in the Corrections & Additions forum http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 8&t=134667
I agree, the "Tätigkeitsbericht" shows a mistake. See also my post above - the nephew of Obtlt. Hartmann speaks about the 30th .

Hello,

two cases not mentioned so far:

(Zank, 2012, p.46)
