Commander of Infanterie Division "Döberitz“
Hi!
Who was the REAL commander of the 303.Infanterie Division "Döberitz“ between 9 III 1945 and 8 V 1945?
Generally Generalleutnant Dr. Rudolf HUEBNER is listed as the CiC of that unit but he was at that time commander of a "Special Flying Court Martial West".
Regards!

Correct, Oberst Hans-Wolfgang Scheunemann
Re: Commander of 303.Infanterie Division "Döberitz“
Why's Tessin list Döberitz under 303. Infanteriedivision then? A companion division that went through the same thing was 309th ID Berlin.
And while we're at it, why do some people insist on calling Panzer Lehr 130th IPanzerdivision? That one has less foundation; I can't find any official record of it as 130. Panzerdivision. True, it had regiments numbered 130, but>>>>>

Genstab

Because Tessin is ad definitum wrong here...and Division Berlin had no number, too

Hello, Are You sure that cdr. of ID.Döberitz was Hans Wolfgang Scheunemann ? When did he became Oberst ?Minotauros wrote:Correct, Oberst Hans-Wolfgang Scheunemann
According to Keiligs list of 1944 Walter Scheunemann only became Oberst, whilst other one (Ha.Wolfg.) was/remained Oberstleutnant. If You eventually have their (of both) mil. careers, pls. kindly let me know. Thanks, Rossano

Oberst SCHEUNEMANN was WIA on 20 IV 1945.
Oberst ESCH took command of the Infanterie Division „Döberitz“ the next day.
