Hello guys!

Two well known BA shots of GO Dollmann (Inspecting Oberrhein fortifications with Gauleiter Karl Weinrich) . You can also see a chubby general with him. For a long time I thought it was GL Willy Gimmler (Heeresgruppe-Nachrichten-Führer D) and only now I reviewed the date and place of this inspection. And now I think it's maybe GL Kurt von Berg commander of 556 I.D. which based in the Oberrhein area at the time..?

Best wishes
Ruslan

Hi Michal,

Sigfried Henrici XXXX Pz Korps 1943 under Manstein's HrGr Don. Standing his Chef Carl Wagener, later General.
Man sitting on right looks a lot like HrGr Don Ia Obst Georg Schulze-Büttger

Hi Thierry,
He may be GenMj. Erich Frhr. von Falkenstein, Kdr. Feldzeug-Kdo. VI Münster. He was a HHO winner. His left ear in your pic may not seem to match that from the portrait perhaps because of the distortion of the officer's cap immediately behind him

Bonjour,

He may be Generalleutnant George von dem KNESEBECK, Kdt von Münster : 15 octobre 1935, Wehrersatz Inspekteur Münster (1er avril 1937-15 novembre 1944).

Elwyn,
Some years ago you backed the identification of this general in the Wehrmacht-Awards Forum as Gen.Lt. Joachim PELTZ.
What have made you change your mind?
I don´t have any picture of PELTZ to be able to compare with.
I don´t think that his features match those of FALKENSTEIN and certainly he is not KNESEBECK.

Regards.

Hmmmm, I'm missing a clear pic of Joachim Peltz, :(

but he was since 01.06.1935 Kommandant des Truppenübungsplatzes Munster-Lager
01.07.1942 Führerreserve
01.09.1942 Abschied

His decorations:
27.08.1918 Ritterkreuz des Kgl. Preuss. Hausordens von Hohenzollern mit Schwertern (PH RX)
28.08.1916 Ritterkreuz des Kgl. Sächs. Militär St. Heinrichs-Ordens (HR)
EK II und EK I
19.09.1912 Kgl. Preuss. Kronen-Orden IV. Klasse (PK 4)
28.03.1906 Ritterkreuz II. Klasse des Kgl. Württembg. Friedrichs-Ordens mit Schwertern (WF R2)
22.12.1914 Ritterkreuz I. Klasse des Kgl. Sächs. Albrechts-Ordens mit Schwertern (A R1X)
01.04.1917 Ritterkreuz I. Klasse des Kgl. Sächs. Albrechts-Ordens mit Schwertern und mit der Krone (KzuA R1X)
1918 Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber

I completely agree with Dieter. With my 2747 entries in my 1920 - 1945 general data base, I am hitting a point of diminishing return. Once I filed something, it could be quite tricky to retrieve it unless you tag every single minutia. Thierry's picture was on Ebay quite a while back and I came to the conclusion that Münster (WK VI) was actually Munster (Munster-Lager) in WK X. Indeed, I had him filed under Peltz.

But you can't get rid of v Falkenstein that easily as he was also Kmdt of the same Truppenübungplatz earlier :P 8O :P
http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Kar ... ster-R.htm

Nevertheless, I vote with my feet that it was Peltz.
