I just found this picture in my files with no reference either to the source nor to the ID´s of the generals in it.
I think they are GREIFFENBERG on the right and FRIESSNER on the middle and the location should be Hungary.
I´d appreciate your confirmation as well as the ID of the general on the left.
Thanks.

Miocid, I think it could be Hans Gollnick.

Hi Guys,

it's a great idea to use pic no. like Foto 52 etc.
This makes it easier for people e.g. like me - who are not profis
to identify persons - to follow yr qualified discussions :)

Many thanks in advance for yr understanding to use numbers!

Here we see two generals! Is this Löhr on the right side?

Hi Ruslan,

The Historical Media #87 pic --- what's on his neck. I am just guessing it was the Hungarian Order of Merit. At the top of cross, either it was a distortion inherent in the photograph or was it the Crown of St Stephen's? That would give added probability to it being Himer as he was Dt General bei Hungarian Army.

Hi Miocid and Graveland,

I have this pic in "The Siege of Budapest" by John Lukacs. Can't be Gollnick as he was fighting in HrGr Nord. I had thought about HrGr Süd (formerly HrGr Südukraine) CdS Helmuth Grolmann but decided against it. Unless it was Friessner wuth Army Abteilung Narva or HrGr Nord but now v Greiffenberg wouldn't fit.

I agree with Alex that it was Gruf. August Edler v. Meyszner as he was a very tall man. Löhr was OB HrGr E. So either Serbia or Montenegro. If you open up the picture, the insignia on the side of the helmets suggested the troops were Polizei and not WM units

Hi, Elwyn!

I think you may be right. It is a pity that the reflected light does not allow to be 100% sure what award he wears. :?

And quickly compare. In my view his characteristic plump lips, smile lines and nasolabial folds are very good? :)

Best wishes
Ruslan

Himer was not a RKT. That's why Ruslan and I think the neck order was Hungarian Order of Merit. You can see a pair of swords sticking out on either side

Hi, Elwyn.

Thanks so much for the explanation about Himer.

On this matter (Himer´s affair), I would say 99% that the two man of the pic - Himer vs Candidate.jpg (82.81 KiB) - are the same person: Kurt Himer.

All the best.
