Many thanks, Christian. I had thought about Swedish order of the Star but what I had on file was a very elaborate version which threw me off track.

So problem solved. None other than GenLt Bruno v. Uthmann, Militärattaché in Stockholm. Looks like he had the Finnish order of the White Rose as well.

Cheers

Great work, guys! Mr. Uthmann in our hands.

I totally agree with you once one (your four IDs). Congratulations, you are a star!

As always thanks for your confirmation and kind words, Gregg. I hope I will be able to compete with Justin Bieber! In fact, I want to share your gratitude with everyone who teaches and who learns on the AHF. :)

And back to the old stones:

Thanks to Rusland one can go back to pictures that were left unidentified.
While checking LOEVEN which is a 100% ID, I paid attention to two pictures on the same page whose ID has got a question mark.In my opinion they don´t show neither CRÜWELL nor WIETERSHEIM. The tall general was identified on the wehrmacht awards forum as ULEX which is very possible.
Cheers.

There is a good chance it was indeed Ulex. He was a burly man. These Mercedes (??) quickly disappeared after the beginning of the war as I am sure they had little cross country mobility or ruggedness. Plus we see s Korps pennant and cross belts on some officers so limited choice of Korps Kmdrs.

Interesting candidate of small man with AH-style moustache is Erwin Gerlach. He looked "well heeled" as he had a nice private pruchase winter coat. He was Ulex's Ia in XI Korps before the war. Then Ulex retired, recalled and made a pit stop at X Korp and went onto to Grenzabschnitt Süd, presumably under Blaskowitz Ob Ost ("2nd" ObOst). Gerlach re-united with Ulex as he was now Ia for Blaskowitz.

Ignore Biblio Verlag's entry for Erwin Gerlach. That was Bruno Gerloch, later RKT. Biblio showed no pic on the Bruno Gerloch page.

Hi Mansteinpearl, thank you for your answer, but I think it's not Mattenklott. The first general wearing goggle in your pic is General der Panzertruppe Joachim Lemelsen...

The Generalmajor with "Krimschild" is Eckhard von Geyso
