Indeed, Josef Lehmann. This is one of a number of pictures taken at an award ceremony.

Hello, Gerhard!

I'd say General der Panzertruppe Oswald Lutz.

Another old mystery, could this be GdI Karl Kriebel, what do you think?

Page 164 - 28df8 ebb.jpg - I think general in the background it's Sigfrid Macholz and not sure about the other. My ways converge on Kurt Brennecke. But never seen him with his Wound badge. :?

Page 217 and 218 - Schroth's companion it's Generalstabarzt Dr. Med. Rudolf Gunderloch, he was chief medic in Stellvertretendes Generalkommando XII. Armeekorps. (commander GdI Walter Schroth). You can compare the chubby face and awards on page 259.

Hi, friend Ruslan.

Image

If you want my humble opinion, here you have my hypothesis:

1) In the background,.... Yes, it's Sigfrid Macholz! Maybe als Kommandeur der 49. Infanterie-Division on Westfront.
2) And the other general I think he is Otto von Knobelsdorff, als OB. der 1. Armee on Westfront.

All the best.

Hello, Gregg!

Von Knobelsdorff also was my first candidate. I saw their co-operation in 1942 and his DKiG bothered me. And now I stumped twice, his Oakleaves where are they? 8O

Well, Ruslan, for unknown reasons, he is not wearing his EL on this pic, but I am pretty sure that he is von Knobelsdorff (see the Pzkampfab and the Verw-Abz.).

By the way, do you think it would be possible to identify positively a german general without his medals? I think so, although - of course! - you are the best of the best on this!

Cheers.

P.S. I would say that the man of the pic (Bild 001a.jpg) is not Kriebel.
