Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Hi Chronologie,
I am not that much of an expert in Hungarian Generals but I think your Hungarian man could be GenMj Gyula Nagy, Kmdr VII Korps under Hungarian AOK 2 in front of Kursk in 1942
Cheers

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Well, the officer next to the German general are in fact a colonel and not a general.
Since GenMj Gyula Nagy recieved his generals rank in 1940, he is unfortunately out of the question.

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Ref Sponheimer pic IIa is Hptm von Kalm later a Major in the Division,I believe it is more than likely Hennig-Tile later an Obstlt, believed Kia, not pos if with 21. ID.
Skowronski as an Oblt. d. Res.. later was a Hptm d. Res. with the Division.

Sorry, Gerhard, you are wrong. Evidently I had the same issue. It was my handwriting on the scan. All this money I spent on Biblio.

Hi Elwyn,
Thx for Feedback. But I think your handwriting must be not correct!?
- See here http://www.unithistories.com/officers/b ... /HeerC.htm The 2 persons look different to me?!
- In the chronic of the 21. Inf.-Div. from Allmayer-beck there is also listed - on page 619 - Bernhard
honoured with the Kreuz in Gold as Ia of the divison on June 8th, 1942
Can you check again
BR,
Gerhard

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Hi Gerhard,
The Hans Houterman website you referred to showed the famous Kurt, eichenlaub träger, born in 1891. "My Kurt" was a much less famous one born in 1902 as indicated by Wegner's not so complete two volume set on WM staff officers. And that was the whole point. Bernhard had DKiG. He was also in 21 ID. "My Kurt" did not have DKiG and he was the Ia.
Cheers

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Any suggestions about the generals apart from Gerd von Rundstedt.
