One more general from ebay to ID. Caption reads: "25. Pz.-Div. in 1943 in Norway". Could he be HAARDE?.
Cheers.

Miocid,
I have absolutely no doubt that he is Johannes HAARDE, Kommandeur der 25 Panzer-Division in Norwegen.

Re:
Evidence has surfaced that Sanne was also awarded the 2nd Class Iron Trefoil with Oak Wreath.
Elwyn W wrote:I agree with Seydlitz Kurzbach and Schedler also.
But I have problem withe Sanne. The general looked too young to be Sanne. Plus Sanne was seen wearing the Croatian Iron Trefoil first class ( a neck order ) and not the second class ( a breast order) so it was not him for sure. I can't come up with anyone on their way to the Stalingrad caldron.
I tried Demyansk in vain. The general did have the young looking profile of Johannes Bohnstedt -- who was trappped with the 32 Div when Seydlitz was in charge of a special relieft force to liberate him. But could not see why Bohnstedt could have anything to do with Croatia.
1/2 of the mystery remains.

Hi Miocid,
I think top pic came with caption that it was Italy 1944. While not always trustworthy, I think it could be NaFü MB Italien Rudolf Meltzer. I know DKiS is missing but the pic seems to have been doctored.
Cheers
Elwyn
Postscript.... running my files, how about Carl Hans Lungerhausen? Again, blocked DKiG but his trade mark pic (not many) was in this style of tropical uniform.

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
25 Pz Gen was not Haarde. Here's Haarde as Kmdr Pz Brig 100 with Werner Ehrenbrecht as Kmdr PzRgt 201. Many pics suggested Haarde was a rather hefty fellow. Also if caption was correctly stated as 1943, v Schell took command 01.01.43. If Haarde was saying goodbye, January in Norway would be a bit colder than that. The man looked more like Adolf v Schell.

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Hello, guys!
The fourth general in the famous foursome on page 118 could be GL z.V. Paul Hielscher with his rare Komtur II. MStHO. The high forehead, slightly grizzled, a bit aged in comparison with his canonical image (no wonder 20 years later)? Migrated between Arko 146, 208 I.D. and 4 Pz.D.
Best wishes

Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Hi,
attached an interesting pic for the "specialists" I found on EBay.
I was taken along with the funeral of GM Georg Gawantka (Cdr of 10. Pz-Div) in July 1939 in Prague.
