It looks a visit of military attaches before 1938.
I think the austrian officer at the far left is the later Wehrmacht Gen.Lt. Karl MOYSES. But who is the general on german uniform?
Cheers.
if this is indeed Karl Moyses [25.06.1934 austrian Oberst, 01.01.1938 austrian Generalmajor], then he was the host as deputy commander of the Theresianische Militärakademie (01.04.1937 - 13.03.1938) - and then the german officer is Char. Generalleutnant Wolfgang Muff [since 01.04.1934 Militärattaché in Wien].

The middle picture on #5236 is Karl STRECKER with Rudolf HESS in 1940.
Cheers.

Ruslan, you have made me to have second thoughts. I had seen several pictures of Rudolf HESS visiting the western front with STRECKER and Otto HARTMANN; so my first reaction was to identify the general on #5236 with STRECKER. After your last remark I went back to those pictures and I´ve noticed several discrepancies. The peaked cap wore by STRECKER in those pictures is different than the one on Fakatoma´s post. As well, this unidentified general is wearing the spange to the klass I EK whereas STRECKER is not on the other pictures. Besides, his features are not that clear, therefore.....he might be BRIESEN even though I would not put all my money on that bet.
Thanks for your remarks anyway.

Esteban,

Cases not in medals or hats. Strecker has a snub nose, here we have the complete opposite - hooked nose.

Alex,

Von Briesen based in Normandy before "Seelöwe".

Although I don't yet 100% sure in v. Briesen.

Best wishes

Good version, but I think Kauffmann has more ponderous head and face, what do you think?

Muff was one frustrating person to ID.. right behind Hermann Geyer.

From my Muff Maybe file....I would think these were all Muffs, with v Papen at various times. The bottom of the three had the AH style mustache showing.. he had been spotted that way too. In this pic the nose was way too flat -- like v Scheüch's ... but no PLM. That's why I thought it could be him.
