Hello,
here's another one:

Tages-Post [Linz, Upper Austria] of Nov. 9th; 1942; 78.Jahrgang; Nr.264; p.6
http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/anno? ... =6&zoom=43
Müller received the German Cross in Gold (DKiG) on Jan. 13th, 1942 while in II. / Zerstörer-Geschwader 26 but this unit was disbanded in April that year.
Here's what the Luftwaffe officers list says about him:

Here's what the Luftwaffe officers list says about him:
That's odd somehow. In Nov. 1942 his family knew nothing about him being a Leutnant so it seems to have been a posthumous promotion, i.e. Müller died before late July 1942. And 7. / Zerstörer-Geschwader 26 operated in the Mediterranean throughout the whole of 1942 but his family writes he died on the Eastern front so his death should have occurred before Müller's transfer to the Mediterranean, i.e. before April 1942. But then why a death notice in Nov. 1942 when he'd died already about half a year earlier?MÜLLER , Hans. (DKG). 13.01.42 Ofw., II./ZG 26 awarded the DKG. 28.07.42 Lt., 7./ZG 26.
Credited with one victory

Hello,
this newspaper snippet mentions DKiG recipient Johann Dobler not only received the German Cross in Gold but previously also the Luftwaffe Ehrenpokal (honour goblet). While his DKiG is well known the fact that he got the honour goblet is news to me.

Re: Der Ehrenpokal - Recipients of the Luftwaffe Honor Goblet
Hello,
a new recipient of the Ehrenpokal: Feldwebel Egydius Grandl:
Source: SA in Feldgrau. Feldpostbriefe der SA-Gruppe Südmark of September/October 1943; Folge 35/36; p.8
http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/anno- ... 34&size=45
So far WW2Awards.com lists him only as recipient of the German Cross in Gold under the name Egyd Grandel.
http://en.ww2awards.com/person/23333
An Oberfeldwebel Egydius Grandl is commemorated as a WW II war dead on a plaque in the cemetery of Zeltweg (Styria).
http://www.denkmalprojekt.org/2015/zelt ... rmark.html
Zeltweg is known for its large air force base built in the 1930s. The town is situated in County Judenburg and SA-Gebirgsjägerstandarte 87 (to which Grandl belonged) covered the counties Judenburg and Murau. So it's very likely the inscription on the plaque refers DKiG recipient Egydius Grandl.
Date of birth: ?
Place of birth: ?
Date of death: ?
Place of death: ?
Date of DKiG: 31.08.1943
Unit: III. / Transportgeschwader 2
Rank on bestowal: Unteroffizier
Last rank: Oberfeldwebel
