Hello,

I have info on the following post:

Hauwe, Alfons; Oberfeldwebel; Beobachter; unit; 18-10-1942 (EP); 26-10-1942 (P-EL)

Unit info: KG-53 (Legion Condor).

Also, he was later a recipient of the DKG (16.02.43).

Thanks.

Thanks for the adding. Do you have a source for that? I know he received his DKiG with the KG 53, but need verification for his presence at the awarding of the Ehrenpokal.

Good question! I was in contact with his son, and I mentioned about his father being in KG-53. The son confirmed that his father was a navigator & observer in HE-111 bombers and that the commander of his plane was Oblt. Eicke, but did not specifically confirm that his father was with KG-53 during the entire war or at the time he received the Pokal. So unfortunately I cannot confirm that he was with KG-53 when he received the Pokal.

If I find out anything further I will post the info.

I almost forgot my old friend (RIP) Leutnant Helmut Zittier of ZG 26, awarded 20.03.1944. He never actually received the award, only the entry in his Soldbuch.

Thanks a lot. His awarding was published in the Erhenliste on 17th April 1944.

Question regarding the award of the Honour Goblet to
Heinrich-Wilhelm AHNERT, I have two dates one states it was given on 23 August 1942 (same day as the Ritterkreuz, and posthumously) another date states 23 February 1942 and another website states March 1942???

Does anyone know the correct date???

Thanks

Fisrt of all, 2nd March 1942 is a known date. That is the date the awarding was published in the Ehrenliste der Deutschen Luftwaffe. This means the actual awarding will be eralier, most probably the 23rd February dating. The 23rd August wil not be correct, that is much to late, the actual awarding is always earlier or the same as the publication data, but almost never so long after.
