Hello W. Vermeer!

This is the later SS-Untersturmführer Ewald Ehm, a long-standing member of the 16.(Pionier)/Deutschland. For a very good bio on Ehm, and all the other holders of the DKiG in the "Das Reich" Division, see Mark C. Yerger's truly excellent series "German Cross in Gold - Holders of the SS and the Police" volumes 1 and 2 (Bender publishing 2003 and 2005). These first two volumes deals exclusively with "Das Reich" DKiG holders.

Regards,

Krollspell

Valdis,

I have sent you a PM as well. The DKiG general looks like Sigismund v Förster. Caption from the series of pics for sale on Ebay claimed it was from Krim. There was also a Army Gr pennant on the mudguard of his car. Now v Förster was BfH Krim/Westtaurien and kmdr of ArmeeAbt v Förster -- would he be entitled to a Army Gr pennant?

Cheers

It's Wilhelm Ochsner. It's related to Art Rgt7, but not quite directly. Ochsner was Kmdr IR62, also 7 Div. Later RKT and general. There were a stack of them on sale @ Ebay, including a pic of Johannes Schmidt, RKT II/IR62.

Cheers
Freiherr
