RKT Oberst d. R. Franz-Josef Kohout

Post by Georg von Dieditz » 17 Jan 2011, 19:01

Hello, I have found some infos about this man on this forum, even his photo, but informations about his career ends with year 1941 when he was awarded with RK. What about the years later?
I have found some Major Kohout as a officer of Fahnenjunkerschule der Panzertruppe 1, but is it the same man or not? This Major was from Waidhofen an der Ybbs (Austria) and also Oberst F. J. Kohout was after war in the austrian army but it could be coincidence...

Thank for any informations,

Regards
Georg

According to Veit Scherzer, RKT Hauptmann Franz-Josef Kohout was born on 16 August 1908 in Waidhofen (Ybbs) Austria, and died in the same location on 21 November 1980. His last wartime rank was Obstlt. and his last rank in the Austrian Army was Oberst. d.R.

Hello Toner and Frech
Which sources do You have stating that he became 20.04.45 OTL. ?
Neither his Karteikarte nor Hans (Panzerarchiv), nor other lists confirm that....
Besides he was moved to Fhr.Res. on 25.01.45, and if he had no more assignments why should he have been promoted to Otl. ?
