unknown Panzer Commanding Officer

Hello to all :D ; here goes some pictures from an U/K (at least for me) Panzer Commanding Officer; I think he could be one of the prewar Regimental Commander either in PR 1 or PR 11. Any helps will be appreciated.

Source: Private Sales List - 4. Panzer Photo Album - Panzer Rgt 11 (6. Panzer- Div.) - Poland, France.

Sorry no better quality. Cheers. Raúl M 8-).

Hey Raúl,

Prewar Kdr. PR 11 was Oberst Wilhelm Philipps... it is not him.

Prewar Kdr.'s of PR 1 were:
Oberst Ludwig Ritter v.Radlmeier... not him
Oberst Kurt Schmelzer... could be, never seen him
Oberst Johannes Nedtwig... don't think so.

my best guess would be Schmelzer, he died as GM and Kdt. d. HQu. d. OKH on 4.3.41.

Hi Raul,

As per Schadewitz's book on Pz.Rgt. 11 the officers in the first photo are captioned as Oberstlt. Philipps and, his adjutant, Oblt. Tölke. The picture was taken in 1937 in Sennelager.

Hello to all :D; gentlemen, coming again to you for help.......Any chance of getting the name for this panzer commander (sorry for the quality) who was awarded with the Knight Cross; this picture were among others depicting the 13 Pz in 1941. Besides, anyone has idea who led the PR 4 (13 Pz) during "Barbarossa"?.....AFAIK from Lexikon der Wehrmacht we have................

Oberst Hans Voigt - August 1940 - 30 April 1941
Oberst Dr. Ing. Herbert Olbrich - 05 June 1942 - 10 September 1942 (KIA Caucasus, posthumous Generalmajor)

http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... er/PR4.htm

But from May 01 of 1941 till June 04 of 1942 ????? TIA. Cheers. Raúl M 8-).

Hello Raúl,

I didn't do very well for you at the beginning of this thread :? . But I will tell you that Wegmann & Zweng's Formationsgeschichte und Stellenbesetzung.... indicates that a certain OTL Rödlich commanded PR 4 from 1.5.41...

Walter Rödlich received the RK on 05.08.40 as OTL and Kdr II/PR 4.

Best..........Jeff
