GdI Hans Wolfgang Reinhard also GM of the Luftwaffe ?

#1

Post by Dieter Zinke » 11 Jun 2011, 18:38

I stumbled across Hans Wolfgang Reinhard

according Keilig &
"Sammlung Krug" &
Michael Miller's Axis Biographical Research &
http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Per ... lfgang.htm
he was:

01.10.1937 Kommandeur Luftgau IV

this is not fully correct, but he was:
01.10.1937 Kommandeur des Luftgau-Kommandos Dresden *)
12.10.1937 - 04.02.1938 Kommandeur des Luftgau-Kommandos VII, Dresden **)

*) : succeeding Oberst Rudolf Bogatsch (01.04.1936 - 01.10.1937)
**) : The command was renamed on 04.02.1938 to Luftgau-Kommando IV (with a new commander at the same time: GenMaj Wilhelm Mayer, 04.02.1938 - 01.12.1941)

If I'm right, he must be (According Hans Graf von Sponeck):
00.00.1937 bei den Offizieren z.b.V. des Reichsministers der Luftfahrt (Sonst. Offze.)
01.10.1937 Generalmajor (Luftwaffe)
00.00.1938 Offizier z. V. des Oberbefehlshabers des Heeres

What's your opinion ???

Hello Dieter,
Keilig only shows a promotion to General-Major on oct 1, 37, no assignmnt is shown. CO of div 35 on 1-9-39. no entry regarding any luftgau command beween 39 and 45. He was a division and corps commander during the war.
Regards, Harry

So what ?
Hans Graf von Sponeck (Befehlshaber im Luftkreis III, Berlin, then Kommandierender General und Befehlshaber im Luftgau VII, München) was not listed there too !!

So I guess soleone should get a copy of their officer personnel files from the Bundesarchiv-Militaerarchiv or the National Archives, and I hope they post summaries in this Forum. These are important omissions.

Guys

Harry, Dieter is correct Keilig shows:

Kdr IR 11 1.4.34
Kdr Luftgau IV 1.10.37
Inf Kdr 26 3.11.38
Kdr 35 ID 24.11.38

I have some notes (these are my notes not the actual entries) from Reinhard's HPA file that show:

GM 1.10.37(12)
Kdr HDS 2 01.4.37
Inf Kdr 26 10.11.38
Kdr 35 Div 24.11.38

but when I check Wegner there is no entry for Reinhard under Heeresdienstelle 2.

John

To add something more confusion: The Stellenbesetzung 1938 (the official rank list reprint) is showing that Reinhard became Inf. Kdr. 26 on 10.11.1938 correct ... but coming from the active Army Personnel reserves (Offiziere z. Verf. d. Ob. Bef. d. H.) until 09.11.1938.

Cheers
Jürgen

Lieber Jürgen,

your data are by no means confusing - on the contrary: the mystery is clearing up bit by bit.
I will post "my" bio soon

Pardon my erroneous post of June 12th. Just noticed I said Bradley's "Die Generale der Deutschen Luftwaffe 1935-1945" when it was Hildebrand who compiled that series. Uncle Dieter probably caught it but was too nice to say anything.
