First name of Maj. 1.4.42(202)(from Rgt.87) Rose ? His Karteikarte reads "6.43-1-45 Kdr. kroat. Ausb.Brig.(but wrong as Ob. Fabianek and GM. Klein were the cdrs. of the Brig.), so maybe Rose was only "Kdr. d. Offz. u. Uffz. Schule" of the Brig. (as stated in his Karteikarte for Juni 43 only) ?

GHdA (2005, p.443) says he was commander of Grenadier-Regiment 172 when he was KIA but gives his place of death just vaguely as 'on the Upper Vistula'. That would be more than a hundred kilometers further east. Since he's buried in Troppau/Opava just 15 km south of Rösnitz/Rozumice that location looks more logical to me.

The Gotha of 1942 (p.495) says he was Major i.G. in the Luftwaffe which may explain why he's absent from the DAL. More on his Luftwaffe career here http://ww2.dk/Lw%20Offz%20-%20S-Z%20-%20Apr%202014.pdf (p.118). Schulenburg transferred back to the Heer Jan 31st, 1944.
