The fate of Hitler's remains (amongst others) has been chewed over in these threads:

Well, as far as i know from witness testimony the body (after it was burnt) was only calcified bones, and the shell fire blew the last bits to pieces- that's why no body was found according to witnesses. Of Course, as some of you may already know, i think that was a doppelganger and the real Hitler escaped, but i won't get into that here. Anyway, no body was ever found. 8O Cheers. :)

You are right. There is a big cover up of what happened, either because all the power know what happened to him, or because they don't. There's a possibility he might of escaped, i mean i saw a history channel special that showed men living in parts of the world that looked like hitler(they're dead now though). I know that there are some speculations on where Goebbels was burried, they found a grave near a forest where there were 8 people in all(i think something like that), goebbels and his wife, and 6 kids(correct me if i'm wrong.)

What better thing to do, use your worst enemy's skull as an ashtray, good idea. Probably scare most people.

Or better than that, How about as " a cereal bowl" ?

From what I understand there was only Hitler's lower jaw that survived the burning and it's in soviet archives but who knows,....it seems that there never really has been a straight answer.

What happened to Goebbles body?? It was burned but still fully intact, does anybody know??

Information on that seems to remain quite sketchy.

Apparently there wasn't enough petrol left to burn Goebbel's body like Hitler's. That's why it was only charred. "Hitler's" jaw was identified by Kathe Heusermann and Fritz Echtmann- the dentists that worked with Blaschke. Apparently gold (which was what it was made of) can stand heats of up to 1063 degrees centigrede before melting. Check out Anton Joachimsthaler's "The Last Days Of Hitler", 2001. It explores the myth of Goebbel's and "Hitler's" corpses. Cheers. :? :)

Gold starts to melt at 1064.18 °C (1947.52 °F)

Theoretically, you could reach up to 1,980º C (3600º F) in a flame from combustion, but in the real world, you can't get more than 1,600 to 1,800 ºC (3,000 to 3,300ºF ) or so.
It's rare to find a flame temperature much above 3,250 to 3,300ºF (1,788 to 1,816ºC) in a practical combustion
source of partial quote:
http://www.process-heating.com/CDA/Arti ... 21,00.html

So I guess, that it could be very possible to melt gold with a normal fuel combustion because you can have flames with temperatures above gold's melting point, but I guess again that I would need more info to figure out how much was the flame temperature

Hitler and his body..

Hitler's skull, or any particular part of it, was not used as an ashtray by any Soviet. That is certain.

Of course if anyone here has detailed and confirmable information, it may be worth sharing with your fellow contributors.

A fairly recent (1996) book, The Death of Hitler: The Full Story with New Evidence from Secret Russian Archives (WW Norton & Co.) is available at Amazon.

Not a very well written book but is does seem to offer a plausible enough account of the disposition of Hitler's remains.

As to Hitler's skull being used as an ashtray, the authors of this book only suggest that skull fragments are housed in Russian Archives. They also state that the remains were removed from Berlin, autopsied, and then buried in Magdeburg. At some subsequent point on orders from Moscow they were disinterred, cremated and dumped in a nearby river.

Hey guys, read the book, Inside Adolf an examination of the man By F. C. Makenzie, then read The greatest Illusion the death? of Adolf Hitler, and the evidence is overwhelming, Hitler escaped to Spain, wher he lived in Franco's pallice until he died of a heart attack on the 1st November 1947.
So he did not gain much.

The double was burned along with Mrs Hitler, that is why Hitler insisted she did not give away her famous heart shaped wrist watch.

She was in the process of giving away everthing she possesed before taking her pill.
