Gentlemen,
Are there anymore information about this German officer named Hans-Georg Graf von Oppersdorff who was awarded the German Cross In Gold on Feb.11,1945 when he was an Oberleutnant of 1/Panzer-Regiment 26. Did he survive WWII? If so what was his postwar fate?
Sincerely,
Edward L. Hsiao

Re: Hans-Georg Graf von Oppersdorff,DKiG
Dear Sir,
Interesting background about his family, thank you. What kind of military service did he had in the Wehrmacht? I know that he served with the Panzers. What was his highest wartime rank before WWII ended for him. Did Hans-Georg served in the Bundeswehr after WWII?
Sincerely,
Edward L. Hsiao

Dear Edward,
Oppersdorff's final rank was Oberleutnant, per the GHdA volume quoted above. I've no information to answer your other questions.
BTW, his father Wilhelm Karl Hans Georg Matthias Eduard Anton Vinzenz Graf von Oppersdorff served as Hauptmann d. Res. in a tank regiment too around 1942. ( http://tinyurl.com/ncunma2 ) Anyone with a clue what regiment it might have been?
Best regards
Torsten
