Mueller-Bülow is another case where I'm not qute sure whether the Soviet sources are reliable. He ought to have been in the Vitebsk pocket along with the rest of LIII. Armeekops, and his division is said to have been destroyed "near Ostrovny and Shilky", i.e. southwest of Vitebsk. All the other generals in the Korps (Gollwitzer, Hitter, Peschel and Pistorius) had been killed or captured by 30 June. Then again, if Mueller-Bülow managed to escape into the woods and make his way towards Polozk, date and location could indeed match. But he would have had to cross the Dvina in that case ...

Hello,
Dieter Zinke wrote: 00.00.1934 Annahme des Doppelnamens Mueller-Bülow
According to DAL from 1935, 1936 and 1937, he is still listed as Mueller not Mueller-Bülow :?

Hello Dave (and all other gentlemen)
I note the following discrepancies :
it is strange that all Your official Karteikarten don' t mention that :
1) he commanded 03-04.42 the Lehr-Brig.900 (as from Dieter above....)
2) he commanded as deputy 03-04.44 the 36.Inf.Div.
It is also very strange how datas in various/different Karteikarten vary so much. In fact another Karteikarte (from roll T78 R908) reads :
1) 20.07.41 Kdr. Rgt. 900 (the others read "02.08.40") so why this enorm difference ?
2) 19.12.39 Kdr. Inf.Lehr-Rgt. (the others read "01 and 28.12.39)
Thanks for Your comments, Rossano
