The correct name is Havelberg. The city is located on the mouth of the Havel into the Elbe, the Elbe being the demarcation line between US and Soviet troops in 1945. According to a diary (see link below), Fruhner and his men seem to have crossed the river on 3 May 1945 and went into US captivity.
