Oberst Cassius Freiherr von Montigny (1890-1940)
Oberst Cassius Freiherr von Montigny (1890-1940)
Hi ,
some data list him as being Commander Infanterie-Regiment 31 and 102 but that seems to be wrong. I have a note that he was “Stabsoffizier in einem Infanterie-Regiment” and “Bataillonskommandeur”. Who has some exact data of his positions between 01.10.1934 and him leaving the Wehrmacht 30.04.1937?.
When did he become Hauptmann der Schutzpolizei?.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Oberst Cassius v. Montigny
HM,
he is shown in the 1935 "Stellenbesetzung" as an Obertstleutnant 1.7.34 (31a) on the staff of Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 31.
I do not have his date of appointment to the rank of Polizei-Hauptmann but his RDA given in the 1926 "Dienstaltersliste der Polizei-Offiziere der Schutzpolizei in Preußen" is 28.10.08
Regards
Glenn

Re: Oberst Cassius v. Montigny
This from the "Crewbook" of the Class of 1909. It gives an abbreviated career summary of the Baron. I believed Phil erred in his assumptions that SS-Oberführer Frhr. v. Montigny ever commanded either IR 31 or IR 102.

Re: Oberst Cassius v. Montigny
Thanks all.
Anyone else any ideas about his promotion to Hauptmann der Schutzpolizei?. On 01.12.1926 he became Major der Schutzpolizei.
Any other decorations then the following:
Eisernes Kreuz I. Klasse, Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse, U-Boot-Abzeichen, Ehrendegen des RFSS, Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer.
