John, do I understand it right that the other three were listed as 16.03.? Was this an effort to make Jauer senior to Tettau, and are there no numbers added?

Yes, all three are mit Wirkung vom and RDA 16.03.1945 and are contained in an appointments list dated 31.03.1945.
Promotions 16031945.jpg
It looks like the promotion of Jauer was approved at a different time to the other three.

I also have a possible source of the 15.03.1945 date for von Natzmer bu it has no date and no reference number!

John

Thank you, but a lot of my conclusions were only possible with the help of the original data you generously provided me with.

One thing is now sure, all four had a RDA. But I still wonder whether Jauer's differing date is correct (with the handwritten underline emphasizing the unique date) or a typo / error (in that case, the underline would mark the 15 as wrong). It seems not very logical to introduce a new, ideologically motivated date and then deviate from it.

Do you happen to have numbers for the 01.03.1945 full generals Mauchenheim, Schwalbe and Thomaschki?

No - but I do have this:

I don't know how the order in the list fits in with their RDA as Generalleutnant but it suggests a possible seniority list.

Unfortunately, it is not the order of seniority (neither for the full generals nor the GM).

As the notes say, Bechler had already been promoted and Reinwald's promotion was postponed to 01.04., but I can't decipher the note behind Göbel. I guess it is about Göbel (maybe his wounding?), not about Lauchert, but I may be wrong. In any case, why was Lauchert crossed out? He is usually listed as GM from 01.03.

On the full generals, Petsch (who ranked the others) is missing. I have the following numbers for them:
(1) Petsch
(6) Hitzfeld
(7) Kessel
(8) Abraham
The seniority fits, but who should be the missing officer? There are four slots left, and I know only about Thomaschki, Mauchenheim and Schwalbe.

Thank you very much, Santiago! Allow me two more questions:

1.) Can you confirm any additional promotions from 01.03.1945 or 01.04.1945 that were without RDA?
2.) Do you happen to have any rank numbers for 20.04.1945?

Dear Santiago!

Thank you very much for solving these long time issues. It´s much appreciated and achieving this info is a real milestone.

From my end there are now the following GM still without seniority number:

* Frhr. v. Gersdorff (Rudolf Christoph)
* Knabe (Gustav)
* Bader (Robert)
* Müller-Hillebrand (Burkhard)
* Knüppel (Wilhelm)

Do you happen to know anything re them too?

Jürgen

Meanwhile I doubt that Knabe was promoted Gen. Maj. His Wehrpass front page which is online (last entry visible 03.1945) does not contain a promo to Gen. Maj. and shows his last rank as Oberst. I am quite sure that a German officer - not being in captivity - would have processed his promo in his Wehrpass, see:

Thank you very much, Santiago!

Now I wonder about Gerloch, Diesener and Blanckensee who should have been entitled to a promotion with RDA but are not listed.
Judging from their seniority as Oberst, Fritz von Arnim or Fritz Fullriede may have been a possible 20.04.1945 (23).

So if I understand correctly the following GM promos can not be confirmed by your Nachtrag... Correct?

Von Boltenstern: 01.03.1945
Kopp: 01.04.1945
Hempel: 01.04.1945
Von Blanckensee: 20.04.1945
Diesener: 20.04.1945
Gerloch: 20.04.1945
Bader: 20.04.1945 (his Volksbund grave entry is Generalmajor)
Knabe: 20.04.1945 (no GM entry in Wehrpass)
Beelitz: 20.04.1945
Dorn (Helmut): 20.04.1945
Knueppel: 01.05.1945

Correct? What about Dr. Baeke?

Claims of GM promotions after 01.03.1935 without known RDA (which indicates that they were either ohne RDA or unconfirmed):

01.03.1945 Werner von Boltenstern

25.03.1945 Johannes Hölz
01.04.1945 Paul Diesener (maybe 20.04.1945)
01.04.1945 Erich Hampe
01.04.1945 Erich Hempel
01.04.1945 Arthur Kopp
01.04.1945 Eugen-Alexander Lobach
01.04.1945 Heinrich Plickert
01.04.1945 Detlef Rudelsdorff
01.04.1945 Reinhardt Ullrich
01.04.1945 Kaspar Völker
01.04.1945 Friedrich Warnecke
01.04.1945 Hinrich Warrelmann
17.04.1945 Hermann-Heinrich Behrend (if valid, probably date of promotion, not RDA)
20.04.1945 Fritz von Arnim
20.04.1945 Robert Bader
20.04.1945 Franz Bäke
20.04.1945 Erich Bärenfänger

20.04.1945 Max Lemke

01.05.1945 Werner Büning
01.05.1945 Siegfried Heine
01.05.1945 Wilhelm Knüppel
01.05.1945 Hans Kreppel

According to Keilig, Knüppel's promotion is confirmed by his Soldbuch.
