Gen. Vincenz Müller as deputy commandeur of XXVII. and XXIX. AK in 1944

Hello “generals experts”
Can You solve this puzzle ?
According to his Dienstlaufbahn he was deputy commandeur of XXVII. AK 03.44 - 05.44 but from 2 different divisional histories he was deputy commandeur of XXIX. AK 05.03 - 14.04.44 (but according to Wegmann/Zweng from 15.04.44), but here again there is the contradictory data that he got on 07.04.44 the Ritterkreuz as deputy commandeur of XXVII. AK (and from the Korpskartei of XXVII. AK he was deputy 27.02.-23.03.44).
So, all in all it seems that he was first deputy commandeur of XXVII. AK 02.-03?04.44 (until when exactly ?), and then deputy cdr. of XXIX. AK (from/to when exactly ?). I hope You can bring some (official) clarifying data.
Thanks, Rossano

I think there are two different Müller.

Ludwig Müller [* 28.06.1892 in Zeselberg bei Pirmasens ] was mstFb XXIX AK according to an assessment of him by de Angelis dated 19.07.1944

According to his "Generalskartei" he was:
24.02.1944 z H Gr A als stv v Kom Gen kdt
20.04.1944 mFb XXXXIV AK

so mstFb XXIX AK 05.03 - 14.04.1944 fits in nicely.

John

Reason: I added * 28.06.1892 in Zeselberg bei Pirmasens [there are two Ludwig Müller]

Thanks John
Effectively the Gen. Müller, 03.44 - 04.44 deputy K.G. of XXIX. AK, is Ludwig Müller (confirmed by the Korps-Karteikarte), not Vincenz Müller.
My mistake (I didn´t read "Ludwig" in the Korps-Karteikarte, so I believed that he was Vincenz), that´s the reason of my confusion.
Sorry, Rossano

I see in Lexikon der Wehrmacht that (Johann) Ludwig Müller was also mFb at XXIX. AK from 18-12-43 to beginning 1-44 (in his biography under the Personenregister). Anyone come up with this anywhere else to confirm? Sometimes Lexikon has some good data. It seems to be the best of the German language websites from what I've seen, no doubt fed from their Forum der Wehrmacht.

Best,

By the way, I'm not a native speaker, but I think the correct english term would be "acting commander", not "deputy".
There are times in history when staying neutral means taking sides.

"Deputy" is used by Google Translate but as askropp says is not the best English term. "acting commander" is the better choice.

Translation of military terms is very difficult to get right, which is why it is perhaps better to use the original German terms even though this is an English language forum - it does avoid confusion.
