this is a stub to collect all information on DKiG recipient Johann Fuchs. Additions are always welcome.

Date of birth: 06.12.1919
Place of birth: Kalchberg (Styria, Austria)
Date of death: 28.10.1944
Place of death: Havaj (Eastern Slovakia)

Date of DKiG: 08.06.1944
Unit: I. / Jäger-Regiment 207 (97. Jäger-Division)
Rank on bestowal: Feldwebel d. R.
Last rank: Oberfeldwebel (posthumous?)

The newspaper article attached generally is in good accordance with the database info used but there's one problem. The newspaper says Fuchs was born in Semriach (Styria), about 30 kilometers NE of Kalchberg. The best explanation I can think of to bridge this gap is that he was given birth in the house of his grandparents in Kalchberg and that this detail later was omitted by the paper as being irrelavant.
