Hi there,
l am completely unfamiliar with German (or Axis) uniforms, what can you tell about the gentleman on the right of this picture. Who is he and is he German or from another country? What can you tell about his uniform (rank, insignia etc)?
The picture itself was probably taken on Amsterdam-Schiphol airport probably somewhere at the beginning of the war. The person on the left is the Wehrmachtsbefehlshaber der Niederlande General Friedrich Christiansen.
Thanks for any help.

Looks like an NSFK Gruppenführer or Obergruppenführer to me, possibly Keller, who became NSFK-Korpsführer in 1943. NSFK stands for Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps. Friedrich Christiansen was the NSFK-Korpsführer from 1937 to 1943 in addition to being a Luftwaffe General and also, I believe, commander of German forces in Holland. He was an interesting man. A naval pilot during WW1 with thirteen victories, he won the Pour-le-Mérite as well as the Knight's Cross with Swords of the Hohenzollern House Order. Born in 1879, he was quite old for a fighter pilot. He was jailed for twelve years by the Dutch for alleged war crimes but released after four years.
