Hi Georges,

VJK posted Roettig on "For VJK: 1 down, 43 to go" a little while ago. No luck with Karl Sachs so far from anyone!

cheers
Freiherr

Freiherr,

the photo below appeared in "von Kleist: from Hussar to Panzer Marshal" with the following caption:

"Sept. 18, 1941. Generaloberst von Kleist attends a situation conference at the hedquarters of the XI Army Corps. The officer in the centre is Generalmajor (sic) Sachs, commander of the 257. Inf. Division."

Karl Sachs had been a Generalleutnant since 1 Feb 1939.

Regards
Glenn

This was the last outstanding Gen. d. Pion.

Excellent Glenn,

Thanks Glenn, you are a star! Wait till VJK and Stauffenberg see this. The young officer on the right hand side looks familiar but can't place him.

Cheers
Freiherr

Freiherr,

the young officer on the right hand side is Oberleutnant Harry von Johnston, von Kleist's orderly officer.
