Hi,

It's a pretty lousy picture I am afraid. I got it from the Stalingrad site -- great info but not the best for quality sorry to say.

thanks
Freiherr

Where was the last photo taken? And what is the Scotsman doing there, unloading the pistols?
There are times in history when staying neutral means taking sides.

This is a scanned picture from the book Victory in Europe and shows the surrender of three german generals to the british forces in Bremerhaven.
The Generäle are: Eberhard Rodt (15. Panzer-Grenadier-Division), Ernst Haeckel (Division Nr. 471 or Führer-Reserve OKH) and Richard von Schwerin (Division z.b.V. 617).

I did not know that these three divisions served together. Are my eyes failing me, or is Rodt still wearing his tropical uniform? This is at least eight months after he left the Mediterranean!

What a interesting comment!

And one more (left to right): Richard Eichler (IR 212), Richard Wolf (IR 208), Richard von Schwerin (79. ID) und Andreas von Aulock (IR 226)
