Hi
For my research about the I.SS.Pz.Gren.Btl NORGE in Hungary 1945 i am looking desperatly for Info about a Komp.commander. I have unfortenely no more Info than his name was Karlheinz(?) PALLASCH and was from Bavaria. He was KIA in Pettend ,Jan 45.
Can anyone guide me to a "surchmachine" or institute in Germany that can help me. I cant contact any "einwohnermeldeamt" as i dont exactely from wich town he was. What to do ? any ideas ?As far as i know there is NO documents either on him at Berlin Document Center.....
Thanks
Mirko B

The only Pallasch I could find that died in Hungary in January 1945 is:
Nachname: Pallasch
Vorname: Johann
Dienstgrad: Jäger
Geburtsdatum: 08.06.1909
Geburtsort: Mislowitz
Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 06.01.1945
Todesort: Gattanya
Johann Pallasch ruht auf der Kriegsgräberstätte in Böhönye (Ungarn) .
Endgrablage: Block 3 Reihe 9 Grab 166
It's no officer, not from Bavaria, so I doubt if it's him.
Cheers,
Hans

Hi Hans
Hi Hans,
Thanks Hans, but i am afraid its not the same guy. Karlheinz Pallsch was KIA, end of Jan. 45 in the very dramatic battles around and in Pettend. He was listed as a Comp.commander and i would guess he was SS-Ustuf.(??)
He was known as a hard driller, but in combat he was sort of coward, stated by some Veterans in the Btl.
He must have been in the unit when it was rebuild in Hammerstein ,summer 1944.
Who is this "ghost", a wellknown "figure" in the unit...??
