Who is this SS officer?

I would say he's SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer Hans Weiss.

Born 28th August 1911 at Vöhringen.Joined SS-verfugunstruppe in 1933 at Ellwangen.He served as CO of Company in the SS Recon Group attached to Panzer Division Kempf in Poland.WIA and awarded with EK II.Awarded with EK I in West 40.Served as CO of Mg Company of Recon Battalion of "Reich" in Balkans and later in Russia.
1943 in Kharkov he was CO of "Reich" Recon battalion and win Knight's Cross 6th April 43 as Haupsturmfuhrer.He was also holder of German Cross in Gold and Close Combat Badge in Silver.In Normandy he was CO of Schwere SS-Panzer Abteilung 102 and was promoted as SS-Obersturbannfuhrer 1st July 44.
On 19th August 44 he was severy wounted to head by bullet near Trun and another bullet went through his lung and third in his pelvis.He became POW to Americans as he was unconscious.
He died 2nd October 78.He was known as"brown bomber" to his men.

Well here's a pic of Weiss from Lefevre-Panzers in Normandy.Then And Now.Looks like the same man as in yours pic.

I doubt it but you could be right. I.e. Weiss have a split chin which the man on my photo doesn't seem to have.
