Run a search here for "Gudrun Himmler". It should give you some results...

This is really a technical matter. Himmler joined the 11th Bavarian Regiment in 1918, but didn't see any action. I do not much about what happened to him, but Gebhard, Himmler's older brother, survived the war and was around at least until the 1960s.

Gebhard Himmler was Himmler's father, right? Did he have an older brother with the same name aswell?

According to Beevor's Berlin book, Himmler's brother, who was working in the German Broadcasting Services, was killed while trying to escape the besieged city. It maybe that he had two brothers?

Himmler's Brother

#8

Post by David Brown » 05 Jun 2003, 22:20

Heinrich Himmler had two brothers. His elder brother was named Gebhard, after his father. His younger brother was named Ernst.

Dr Gebhard Himmler (the father) was appointed head teacher at the Gymnasium of Landshut during 1913. He had been the tutor to Prince Heinrich of Bavaria, and it is he who Heinrich Himmler was named after.

Although he was younger, Heinrich Himmler was reputed to be an over-bearing brother to Gebhard, responsible for breaking up his engagement to Paula Stolzle. It seems the only justification for this was that he thought her to be immoral because she was curvacious and very pretty with it.

Other then that I haven't got anything else I can help with on this.

Sir,

Do you even bother to read the posts above?

Had you bothered to do so you would see several answers to your questions albeit they might actually require that you interact with the forum.

Calm down folks

I posted a URL to a document purporting to be Himmler's complete family tree - doesn't include siblings, just his own antecedents. This gives his father's name as Joseph Gebhard Himmler.

Gudrun Himmler is still active in helping SS vertans and has been discussed in:

Search using the keywords "nazi children gudrun" and select "Search for All Terms" to see other topics that include Gudrun.

Cheers,

To my previous post I would like to add, that it was the younger brother Ernst who died with serveral others when they tried to flee across the Charlottenbrücke into Spandau.
