Same about von Hindenburg, as written before.

Himmler was also called "der König Heinrich" within SS circles, because of his interest and comparison of himself to King Heinrich the first (designing his personal room in Wewelsburg castle after him, for example)

Heydrich was of course called the 'blond beast' but I don't know how that translates as I cannot seem to find any webpages in German mentioning this fact.

As a specialist in the "Left wing of NSDAP", can you name any nick of G. Strasser?

Such a thing would compromise the dignity of a martyr to true revolution and undiluted socialist values! How dare you propose to profane his memory!

[But seriously, I have never heard of one. Neither does Statchura mention one in his biography of Strasser. Many people have commented on how bear like he was, perhaps there was a nick name in that?]

Maybe it was originally meant as a compliment, but then became sarcastic.

You guys got me to thinking after reading this topic... we (that is, my circle of friends and I) have a sort-of euphamistic code that we use to speak about personalities of the Third Reich so that if we have a conversation in public, no one can know what we're talking about. Some of our code words:

"Doc"- Dr. Goebbels
"The Boss"- Adolf Hitler
"The Toad"- Martin Bormann
"Fat-ass"- Herman Goering
"The Chicken Farmer" - Heinrich Himmler
"Dr. Creepy"- Dr. Mengele
"Gretl's Husband"- Fegelein
"Hot Lips"- Maj. Otto Guensche
"Empty-headed slut"- Geli Raubal (not originally ours, but it works)
"Ass-nosed Quack"- Dr. Morell

That's all I can think of right off the top of my head. Do any of you do the same with your friends?
