4 Years of ABR

#1

Post by Michael Miller » 16 Jun 2003, 15:57

Not fishing for congratulations here, but I just noticed something- An anniversary came and went last month. Four years of ABR.

I'd like to thank all visitors and contributors. Of the latter there are hundreds- their names can be found throughout this forum and their gifts to this field of research are sprinkled throughout the site.

All who've gained something from this site owe a degree of gratitude to Mr. Ken McCanliss. It was he who gave me most of the primary source material- Keilig, von Seemann, the Biblio Generale und Admirale series, my first SS-Dienstalterlisten (9.11.44 & 1.12.1937), etc. Without Ken's material and spiritual encouragement, I could never have brought this thing (which, as I wrote in the "About this Site and Its Authors" page, began with 3" x 5" cards in a Nike shoebox when I was 15) to the internet.

Thanks again to all friends of ABR.

Sincerely,
~ Mike Miller

Congradulations Michael! And it's still growing. On Ken, in the past he's been a great source for me. The ammount of selfless things he done for me cannot be underestimated and will not be forgotten.
He is indeed an inspiration and also a model to mould myself on. I owe him a lot and I wish I could repay him. I'm visiting America soon (about a girl ;) ) and if half the people there are like Ken and not Bush I wouldn't want to leave, well that and the girl looks better than anything ever.
I'm sidetracking severely here, its sunny and hot in Belfast, that's a complete rarity and I think it's affected my brain.

In summary Congradulations Michael I hope I have helped in my own little way to keep things going over there and I hope to help even more.
Well Done!

Gareth

Michael -- I'd like to add my congratulations, and thanks as well. Your site is an indispensible asset for researchers during the WWII time period.

Congratulations Mike!

I too began with small filing cards when I was around 15/16 (over 30 years ago now - where has the time flown?), so I know the work involved! This Forum has indeed been a source of inspiration and an awful lot of help and information, for which I would like to thank all the contributors. Let us all jointly keep the ball rolling!

With very best wishes,

VJK

I'd like to add my appreciation for the good work of Mike Miller. It is a major undertaking to create and maintain a site of such high quality. I wish him every success in his work, both on the Internet and in his day job.
