I don't quite remember where I got this picture, but who is he? What is that medal he is wearing? A biography of him would be great. Thanks in advance.

Kocjo -- I got the information on Schmidhuber's capture in Slovenia from Mark Yerger's book "Waffen-SS Commanders" vol. II, pps. 200-203, and he did not give any detail on the exact location. Sorry.
