Hitler's Chef and her recipies

#1

1) Is it true Hitler's chef--or head chef, whatever--was a Jewess?

2) Did she ever publish a cookbook of the vegetarian meals she made for the Fuehrer? If not, has anyone else done so?

I do not really know what you mean, but it is true that Hitler had a dietitian/cook (mrs. Marlene von Exner who came from Vienna) who worked for him since july 1943 untill may 8 1944 . She did her job very well and Hitler was very statisfied about her. He even gave her a dog.

From the first day that she worked for Hitler, she had told him that the papers of her mother weren't right for 100%. Her grandmother had been abandoned when she was a child, so the SD couldn't check what the real descent of Marlene was. But because Marlene and her family had always been fierce supporters of the nazi party, Hitler didn't attache value on the fact if she had Jewish blood or not.

But in may 1944 the SD found out that Marlene did have some Jewish blood running through her vain.
After he heard about that, Hitler had a long conversation with Marlene and told her that he was very sorry, but he had to discharge her. He said: 'it is absolutely not possible to make an exception and break my own laws.'
Bu what Hitler did do was, when Matrene went back to the place where she came from, he gave Bormann the order to let the SD declare Marlene and her family Arien. He also gave her six months salary as an extra gift.

I do not know if she has ever written a book about the food that she gave Hitler.

Bormann said to Hitler that he would arrange that Marlene and her family would be declared Arien.
But in fact he didn't, because of the fact that he tried to get off with Marlene, but she had rejected him.
He was furious about that and didn't gave the SD the order to declare Marlene Arien.

She and her family run into big trouble and Marlene had to give up her job at the hospital in Vienna, her sister had to quit with her medical study, her brother had to give up his doctor's practice and her youngest brother could forget his carier in the army.

Traudl Junge found out that Bormann didn't had them declared Arien and went to Hitler. Hitler was furious and ordered Bormann to immediately help the family.

In march 1945 everything turned out all right for the family von Exner. They were finally declared Arien.

Since then, nobody knows anything more about Marlene von Exner. She was born in 1917 and I never have read anything about the fact that she has died. So she's probable still alive.

Frau Von Exner was a recommendation from Dr. Morell.
Dr. Morell believed she would know to charm Hitler's taste.

Thank you very much, Mich! It is a shame she didn't publish a cookbook; it would probably sell good copies. "Eat like Hitler!" could be a slogan

Didn't Hitler also employ a Miss Manzialy as vegetarian diet-cook, at least for the last months? 'A mousy little woman' as someone described her. She's supposed to have been in one of the break-out groups from the bunker on May 1st - but disappeared. Most likey killed or gone to ground - who knows.

Traudl Junge said about Constanze Manziarly that she saw her the last time when had escaped out of the bunker and were somewhere in Berlin. Manziarly had putted on a coat from the Wehrmacht. The Russians saw that and dragged her to an office. That was the last time that Traudl Junge had seen Manziarly, but Junge claims that Manziarly has commited suicide on may 2 1945 by taken cyanide.

It was definitely a sign of the times that even the upper echelon Nazis could protect their Jewish friends and employees only up to a certain point. There was so much in-fighting and one upmanship among the Nazi bigwigs, that to maintain any type of relationship with any Jew, no matter their high value to the Reich, that that relationship would be used as a testament to one's possible disloyalty.

Here she is, the one and only Marlene von Exner.

Before she came to Hitler, she was a cook for Marshall Antonescou of Romania, and he was very surprised finding her in Hitler`s kitchen when he was visiting the Wolfsschanze in 1943. He gave her a little dog as a gift.
Marlene is the woman on the left on the pic. The girl on the table is Traudl Junge, Hitler`s secretary. The photo was tken in the kitchen of the Wolfsschanze in 1943.
