Waldemar von Gaza...or...Gazen??

#1

Post by Anton S » 08 Dec 2003, 23:06

Just wanted to ask about his real name.
Wich one is it? And why the two? Is one of them a nickname?

I have found a "Waldemar von Gaza" in the german telefonbuch.de and there are no "von Gazen" present in the list - could it be him? Is "Gaza" the name he uses today?

Happy for answers

You've got the wrong person. He's not the same as listed in the phonebook.

Hi Anton Martin and J-H
known as Waldemar von Gaza gennant Gazen
I think, ref Tscherkassy was at the time of the attempted
relief Feb 44 was on 23/11/43 in the Fuhrer Res.,D.r.
Bef of Wehrkreis X1(Hannover)till 14/2/44 when he was
sent to War Academy as Gasthorer(Student guest of the Cmdt)
I think it is the right interpretation of the word, let me know if I am
wrong. Was still there in May 44,but who knows for definate as he
maybe sent there as an advisor.
Hope it helps

Hi,

If you were looking to contact him, I know that he does not answer letters and he is a very difficult RKT to correspond with.

Regards
Phil

A present-day photo of von Gazen, gen. Gaza, has been removed due to rights of personality.

I have come across Waldemar von Garza's Knights Cross Document in its red case - it was brought home by a GI - they want $25,000 for it

Does anybody know if the German U-Boat commander Jürgen von Gaza is his brother, cousin, or any other relative of him? Would be interesting to know!
