Generalrichter Manfred Roeder (1900-1971)
Generalrichter Manfred Roeder (1900-1971)
I have been interested in the Generalrichter since reading Perrault's book about the Rote Kapelle. I was sure Roeder had died but did not know when ... I wonder if a biography about the Generalrichter has been written? To my knowledge, he and Harold Polchau, protestant minister at Plötzensee, are the only eyewitnesses to the executions of key Rote Kapelle members. I am surprised that Roeder did not write his memoires ... Perrault visited him in Glashütten.

Excellent. rare photograph...he must have been a flamboyant figure in light of the angled hat, similar to the first photo...I understand his daughter lives(d) in the U.S. and that following the War, he had corresponded with the Governor of Michigan...I wonder why?
I understand a new film has appeared about the Rote Kapelle...has anyone seen it? I believe it is a German film.
Again, my thanks...excellent forum.
