a little bit late but here's the solution:

Generalmajor Friedrich Schmidt
KIA in June 1943 in Kuban bridge head as Generalleutnant...

For a granted not that good but I think good enough comparison look at the homepage of the "50. Infanterie-Division" I'm creating together with another descendant of a 50th veteran:

It looks like that ''Arnim'''guy but look at his ear (bottom) and the line under his eye? This looks a bit different! Maybe the things he have seen made him look like that! :wink:
