Awarded KC for his staff work with Eban Emael operation.Never qualified as a paratrooper.

I don't know if this Student inspecting members of a Sturmgruppe .Maybe,but he was wounded on the 14th May at Rotterdam.Photo from wehrmacht-awards.com.poster unknown.That is Altmann with the KC so it would be Sturmgruppe Stahl.The guy to the right of Altmann could be Arpke.

As indicated here( http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=9830 ) that photo of Student may be from October 1940 after Student,having recovered from his head wound,reviewed his FJs.

Wolfgang Blücher Graf von,Leutnant d.R. 2./Fsch.Jäg.Rgt 1
Joined cavalry 1934.In 1939 moved to Luftwaffe.Assigned to FJR1.Jumped into Holland 1940,"involved in heavy street fighting of Dordrecht".Awarded KC for taking "a strongly manned nest of bunkers".Killed in action at Heraklion,Crete May 1941.

His two brothers also died at Crete:

Helmut Görtz,Feldwebel 3./Fsch.Jäg.Rgt 1
Joined General Göring Regiment 1935.Transferred to FJR1 1936.Fought in Poland,Norway.Görtz's Zug was involved in the Dordrecht battle,May 1940.Awarded KC for taking and holding the bridge there.Later fought in Crete,Russia,Italy.As Oberleutnant commanded 4/FJR1 in 1944.Received DKiG December 1944.Awarded Oakleaves,April 1945.

Karl-Heinz Becker,Oberleutnant Chef 11./Fsch.Jäg.Rgt 1
Joined General Göring Regt 1934.Member of FJR1 1939.Jumped into Holland.At Crete awarded the KC for his leadership at Heraklion.Fought in Russia at the Neva,Velikiye Luki.wounded in January 1943.Took over command of FJR5 in 1944.Saw further action in Normandy,Ardennes,Westwall.

Bruno Bräuer,Oberst Kdr Fsch.Jäg.Rgt 1
The first man to complete Parachute training 1936.Served in WW1 with IR155.Joined Reichswehr.Police officer 1920-1938.Werke Gruppe member from 1933.Took over command of FJR1 November 1938.Served in Poland.Awarded KC for his role in the fighting at Dordrecht and Tweedle Tool,Holland 1940.Lead OstGruppe in Crete fighting 1941.Returned to Crete as Fortress Commander Crete,February 1943-May 1944.Commanded 9FJD 1945.Taken prisoner in May 1945 and handed over to the Greeks.Convicted of war crimes postwar by the Greeks,including the wiping out of the village of Vianos,with 500 villagers killed.Executed 20th May 1947,Schaidari Barracks,Greece.His body lays at rest at Maleme.

Erich Walther, Major Kdr I./Fsch.Jäg.Rgt 1

Knight's Cross-24th May 1940
Oak Leaves-March 1944
Swords-February 1945

Joined Werke police Gruppe,then General Göring Regt 1935.Awarded KC for actions in Holland.Then took part in fighting in Norway.Promoted to Major.Fought at Heraklion,Crete 1941.Served in Russia and awarded DKiG.Commanded FJR4 in Sicily,Italy 1943-1944.Commanded Kampfgruppe Walther at Arnhem 1944.As Oberst took over command of 2 HG Division late 1944.Wounded but returned to his division as Generalmajor,January 1945.Captured by the Soviets and died in captivity 1947.

Oak Leaves-February 1944
Swords-March 1944

After WW1 service joined the Reichswehr.Commanded Heer FJ Battalion in 1938.Transferred to staff of 7. Flieger-Division later on.Commanded Heer IR 514 in the Western campaign 1940.Transferred back to Luftwaffe June 1940--as Oberst helped raise new FJR3.Commanded his regiment at Crete and awarded the KC.Awarded DKiG April 1942 for service in Russia.,Took over command of 7. Flieger-Division in Russia,November 1942.Commanded his division.now 1FJD,in France,Sicily,Italy.Took over command of I Fsch Korps in Italy,November 1944.
