Hi
Does anybody know something more about SS-Hauptsturmführer Karl Fritzsch?
I know he was Kamp Commandant at KZ-Flössenburg and deputy commandant of Auschwitz. I also know that he was probably the first one who used Zyklon-B.
But does anybody know something more about his life, or does anybody have a picture of him

ss hauptsturmfuhrer karl fritzsch born july 10 ,1903 in nassengrub
in the sudetenland, he was by trade a roofer.
he joined the nsdap on july 1, 1930( party card number 261135)
he became an ss member in 1930 as well (serial number 7287 )
in 1930, he was assigned to the 1" oberbayern" ss totenkopf regiment,,
stationed at the dachau concentration camp.
until september1 ,1939, he was a company commander there
then he was assigned to the dachau commandants staff.
his duties included directing the censorship of mail in the camp.
on june 14, 1940, he was transferred to auschwitz and appointed
director of department 3.
he held this post until february 1, 1942, when he was seconded
to the same position in flossenburg concentration camp.
as a result of the abuse of his powers in flossenburg, he was
given a suspended prison sentence by the 25 district ss and police
court in nuremberg on november 10, 1943,
and transferred to a reserve ss armored grenadier battalion
killed in action may 1945.

He was also the captain of a steam ship before his ss career. he's also the one that put to the polish priest Maximillan Kolbe,
but he took the place of someone picked to die in reprisal for an escape.
On Fritz orders he was starved to near death with 10 or so others and then given a phenol injection into the heart to finish him off.
This Fritz was a nasty piece of work, even Rudoph Hoess complains of him in his memoirs.
