A- Yes, in February 1944, following the Cherkassy battle, which was quite rare. I think only perhaps twenty men received the Knight’s Cross from Hitler personally, and twelve of those were for the Eban Emael operation in 1940.

Hitler only personally awarded approx 20 Knights Cross's (Not the higher grades).
Is he correct?

I thought that stilll ran into the hundreds'especially in the earlier part of the war.
